An AI sitemap is a publisher-defined JSON index for consumers that understand its schema. It may group canonical URLs by content type and add titles, descriptions, dates, or relationships that do not belong in a standard XML sitemap.

The filename is not a universal standard. Publishing /ai/sitemap.json does not prove that OpenAI, Google, or another AI service reads it. Its dependable value comes from a documented contract, accurate records, and a known consumer or measurable experiment.

AItoAIWeb.com publishes an AI sitemap as part of its Digital Karma Federation v8.2 contract. The site's manifest declares the endpoint, its catalog defines reusable Dataset collections, and its rendered receipt checks that the page-level data agrees with the canonical sitemap.

Keep the regular XML sitemap for established search discovery. Use an AI sitemap as a complementary data interface, then measure requests separately from referrals or reproduced citations. Read the AI Sitemap Guide for the implementation and quality checks.
