An AI sitemap is a JSON file (commonly served as /ai/sitemap.json or /ai-sitemap.json) that provides a structured, machine-readable content index for AI systems. Unlike a standard XML sitemap that simply lists URLs, an AI sitemap categorizes content by type, assigns topic classifications, and includes descriptions that help AI systems understand what each section of a site covers.

AI sitemaps are part of the broader AI endpoint architecture. They are designed to be accessed directly by AI crawlers, agents, and language models building knowledge of a website's content.
